"They say guys keep conversation short and sweet
And girls can talk for hours til’ they put you to sleep
But you’re the one who checks on me throughout the day
You’d stay on the phone even if there’s nothing to say."
Damn, seems like my head is in the wrong spot,
Cells on overdrive filled by the wrong thought
Any battle worth winning is the one fought,
So my logic beat emotion by a long shot.
"Sometimes love means letting go when you want to hold on tighter."
Something I saw today that I’m on.
This idea is the essence of the spiritual practice called self-enquiry. All of confusion and ignorance stems from forgetting the Self. When you unconsciously identify with the body, mind, and its fictional ego identity, endless problems become possible and result in suffering.
The Self, your essential Being, is made of peace, love, and awareness. It is eternally pure and radiant. To come back to yourself, to become aware of yourself, it is necessary to find stillness and silence within. Meditation is one way that allows this to happen.
The beauty of self-enquiry is to redirect every rising emotion, confusion, or suffering back into the Self. They allow you to find that place of stillness that is always there, which is none other than your real Self.
For example, when you feel angry ask yourself, “To whom does this anger arise?”. Instead of losing yourself in the rise of phenomenal experiences, you can actually allow them to bring you inward. This also acts to shift your focus from illusory objective outer things and attend to the inner dimension of Being.
Let it be known that today was the day everyone I wanted to be around blew me off. Haha, look at me - showing emotions. Disgusting.
"It’s rare I listen to niggas who’ve never been in my position, a caterpillar can’t relate to what an eagle envisions."
"I painted a picture full of poetry,
In hopes that you would notice the cracks.
Showed you a clearer me,
In hopes that you would mirror me back.
In hopes that I could travel a road full of prose,
And take that shit as far as it goes."
"Music is the only thing I put my hope in. Use words to capture my mute emotions."
